There are thirty-one plans on this page and they are not thirty-one different trips. Almost all of them are built from the same set of places — Mathura, Vrindavan, Gokul, Govardhan, Barsana, Nandgaon, and Agra an hour further on. What separates them is how many days you give the journey, and therefore how far out from the two main towns you get.
So the choice is simpler than the length of the list suggests. Decide how many days you have first; that alone rules most of this page in or out. Then decide whether anything outside Braj is going in with it — the Taj Mahal, the Bharatpur bird sanctuary, Ayodhya, or Haridwar and Rishikesh at the far end of a week.
Every plan here is a starting point rather than a fixed schedule. Darshan queues and aarti timings move through the year and through the day, and the route gets reordered around them — which is the main reason to travel this with a driver who knows the towns instead of booking each leg yourself.

How many days do you actually need?
Distances in Braj are short; queues are not. This is what each length realistically reaches.
One day
The main temples of both towns, taken in the order that misses the worst of the queues. Govardhan, Barsana and Gokul will not fit.
Two days
A full day for each town, or both towns and a night in between. Gokul and a Govardhan visit come into reach.
Three days
Braj unhurried, or Braj plus one neighbour — Agra, Bharatpur or Ayodhya. Also the shortest stay that suits an ashram morning.
Four days or more
The 84 Kos parikrama circuit, the Holi week with room for events to run late, or Braj joined to Jaipur, Rishikesh and the Ganga.
